GW Primer Spray Issues

With my last few batches of models that I primed with GW Primer I have had this issue where the primer is "Bubbling" or creating bumps on the surface. This does not happen on all of the models in a batch however. Some get a smooth finish and some get this "bumpy" surface on the same batch. Some models will also have this on one part and not on another part. So for instance one leg may have this, but the other may not, and this is all on the same side of the model. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

As a contrast, I have use Army Painter, P3 back when they were still selling primer, Coat 'd Arms from over 30 years ago, and I have never seen this. For some models, this may not be a problem, but for others it is. I can use GW primer on something like Orks, but I don't want that kind of affect for Space Marines for instance.

Also as a side note, does anyone know what can strip Army Painter primer? I have used Simple Green, Nail Polish,(Non Acetone) and Alcohol and nothing will strip it. Do I need go the full Monty and use break fluid?

I get my primer from Meijer, and I have no issues with it. I won't pay for any of GW's sprays ever again.

What brand do you use form Meijer? I have heard good things for the new Krylon but I have not tried them just yet.

Touch n' Tone. It's a white can with a rainbow circle on the front that has the brand name in it. I was getting it for $1.50 a can. Might be pricier now.

Mejjer must have pictures of the guys that make "Touch &Tone" naked with a bear or something. Amazon has it for $10 to $16. That is about as much as I spend on an Army Painter can. Problem is that GW paint was a great primer for me until about a few months ago. Ruined a whole set of marines that I was going to paint up this summer for my Crimson Fists. Perhaps I got a bad can, but I have two and I really don't see an improvement with the two.

Either I am going to have to wait until I get a painting booth set up, use Army Painter which is "Ok", or try something else.

Black is like 50 cents more. Unfortunately, Mejjer is not down here in Dixie.

I don't know what I want to do right now. I am contemplating a real airbrush station, and I may go for an airbrush primer instead.

I also use flat black spraypaint for undercoats, as well as flat white infrequently. There's cheap paint to be had that functions fine. I got my last few cans of flat black at Home Depot.

Found it in flat black, unsure of why it costs so much more. I used to get it for $.93 a can...

Late reply but as for stripping I really like purple power or the home depot equivalent for plastic models especially. I will use acetone and purple power on metal mini's.

I am trying to recollect ever seeing something like this and was wondering if you may have gotten glue or a chemical on part of the model surface during assembly and it is either reacting with the aerosol paint or its the paint covering the texture of the glue which may have had some bubbles when drying? I do remember this happening once to me but I do not remember the primer used doubt it was GW as I stopped buying premium aerosols a long time ago.

Update: I believe that it is the paint drying air born and collecting on my model. Apparently GW is a lot more finickey when it comes to temperature, and yes I primed during the summer when it was over 90 down here in NC. I am trying to figure out a gentle way to strip the particles that dried on right now.

As a side note I am using Super Clean as my stripping agent right now. No final results yet but so far so good.
