I feel that an explanation is in order as to what happened to the board. Over the past week I tried to create a new board and merge it with the old posts that we had. There were a number of problems that happened until I was basically locked out of my own website. No way to go in and re-constitute the old software, and no way to get to my new software. Always a stressful situation for a webmaster, and I still don't know what I did to make that happen. The only way that I saw forward was to delete everything and start over.

I did some research and found this forum software suite that I wanted to change to. I has everything that I would be looking in a forum software, to include a portal, a user map, better registration software, picture embedding ability, functioning advertisement portals, and plenty of theme's which is the color scheme that you see. I feel that this is a better way forward. I know a lot of you put a lot of work as members and posters, and I hate to loose the work that you put in, and I do apologies for that. For any older posts that you had or wanted to see on here, please do feel free to copy and paste from the "Wayback Machine" and post it as such. I am going to have to ask you to register once again as well, unfortunately. When I mean all was lost, all was lost.

That sounds like an absolute nightmare and I feel awful that happened to you.

I'm sure everyone appreciates all the hard work you have done to host a place for great content and information, I know I do.


It's great that the site is back up and I will certainly be asking my same moronic questions over and over as I learn more about WHFantasy.

Jolly good. Pity about the old posts, but most of us are the "copy this to my blog" or "I wrote this in Word" kind of old hands, so I imagine the best of them will resurface in time.

Liking the restructure as well, leave 2nd ed. 40K to the Oldhammer Forum and knock off all the barely-used sub-boards. Tidy, like.

Web admin monkeying is a headache - I do enough of it in my day job to know that. Glad you found a way forward in the end.

Yeah, I did slim the forums down a bit. I know that I want to keep the forums that currently have as a core. I may add one or two more, like a rules development forum, but only if there is enough groundswell for something like 2ed will I make a new forum from here on out. So if you want a forum on a specific edition or specialist game start writing up good topics and posts on the subject.
