I think my favorite telltale sign that a spammer is trying to apply for membership is when they ask for the administration, say it is very important, and then end it with "Thank".

Indeed, or that they don't understand that the color codes are there for a reason.

I was in mid-banning of a spammer and everything was cleared out before I could finish banning the IP. That was some fast work, boss.
